When you have a great pattern, you cannot just make it up once!
I did say when I posted Bow Ties are Cool that I was going to make another in a more modern print for Belle to keep for herself. Well, it’s done!
The fabric is a cotton, bought whilst on holiday in Cornwall in August, another purchase from The Remnant House in Bude. There really is nothing not to like about this pattern, & so, so much to love! The sleeves are great, cuffs make a short sleeve far more interesting!
Already there is a request for another! Now there is a reason why I have to sell some of the things I make, and it’s not only because the patterns are in sizes that wouldn’t fit Belle. Her wardrobe is packed! Now that her older sister has gone back to her University residence, Belle has quite happily annexed her wardrobe too! So we’ll have to see about another. But I do like it! 😀
This reallly is one of those vintage patterns you can make up today & wear with no-one any the wiser. It lends itself to most colours & patterns, but even made in a crisp white cotton poplin & worn with a business suit, this would look fantastic!
Now I’d better get cracking with the next item on my sewing table. I’ll give you a sneak peek in a day or two. I also need to decide on the next dress to make for Frocktober….
Pretty! You have been very busy too. Belle is a lucky girl! ~Laurie
She sure is, & I never tire of reminding her! 😀
